Upgraded Fengshan Ceremony at Mount Tai leaves international journalists in awe

On the evening of July 10th,  delegation of the 2025“China, an Opportunity: Colorful Tai’an” international media tour visited the Tianzhufeng Scenic Area of Mount Tai. The journalists gathered to watch a spectacular large-scale live-action performance -Grand Fengshan Ceremony atMount Tai. This visual feast, with 5,000 years of Mount Tai's history and culture as its thread, led everyone through time and space to appreciate the brilliant splendor of Chinese civilization through the perfect fusion of modern technology and traditional art.

TheGrand Fengshan Ceremony has been running continuously for 16 years since its debut in 2010. To enrich the taishan culture and construct a new immersive experience of "time-space travel", the performance was unveiled after a complete upgrade and revision on May 1st of this year.

After the upgrade, the performance content expands from the single theme of imperial sacrifices to a multidimensional cultural expression that includes blessings from the common people and praises from poets. Through the wonderful performance of 166 professional actors born after 2,000, it vividly connects the five-thousand-year history of taishan culture, showcasing its profound heritage and unique charm in a comprehensive manner.

As dusk deepened and the stage lights illuminated, the performance began. The character Xiaoshitou subtly connected the stories of the imperial Fengshan ceremonies of the Qin, Han, Tang, Song and Qing dynasties. Foreign journalists watched the performance with attention, as if they had been instantly travelled through time and immersed in the vast river of history.

"I was deeply impressed by this performance at my first visit to Tai'an. The show was very spectacular, and after watching it, I felt a lingering desire for more. This is not just a performance; it contains profound cultural connotations," said He Sang-gee, a journalist from South Korea.

Watching the Fengshan Ceremony has become an indispensable part of travelling in Mount Tai. The 2025 version of the performance features a deep integration of technology and traditional culture, which has become the biggest highlight.

It is not only a performance but also an important window for foreign tourists to understand Chinese civilization. With its unique charm and far-reaching influence, the performance has made a positive contribution to spreading taishan culture and promoting Chinese civilization.
